George Porter Jr is a musical legend from the great city of New Orleans. This amazing bass player is a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner. He is a founding member of Funk pioneers the Meters. George has been a highly influential and in-demand bass player touring with Jimmy Buffet, Tori Amos, and Robbie Robertson. Played on sessions including Lady Marmalade.
His solo band the Running Pardners has been touring for decades and includes Mike Lemmler, Terrance Houston, and Cris Adkins. This band has recently come out with a new album and continues to keep dance floors full all over the country.
John Papa Gros Band is also from New Orleans. B3 wizard John Gros started as a member of the Running Pardners 25 years ago. John is best known as the leader of Papa Grows Funk, an All-Stars band of Nola funk musicians. After Pgf, Gros started a solo project that has toured all over the country. While singing, playing piano, and B3 Gros solo work is fun and funky.
